Beyond the Celebration: HTC President’s Day Inspires a Year of Purposeful Innovation
What began as a simple celebration of gratitude became a meaningful moment of reflection and renewed vision as the Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC) community gathered to celebrate President’s Day 2026 and the birthday of School President Dr. Rey T. Albano on October 1, 2026, at the HTC Triplex Grounds.
Surrounded by faculty, staff, students, and members of the Trinitarian community, Dr. Albano expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm greetings, birthday presents, prayers, and well-wishes extended to him. More than a celebration of another year, the occasion became an opportunity to reaffirm the shared aspirations and direction of the institution.
A defining moment of the gathering was the official announcement of HTC’s institutional theme for Academic Year 2026–2027: “Think Beyond Borders: Innovate Responsibly, Make a Meaningful Impact.”
The theme reflects HTC’s vision of an education that extends beyond academic achievement. Dr. Albano emphasized the importance of developing learners who are capable of using knowledge and technology ethically, creating solutions to local and global challenges, promoting inclusion, equity, peace, and sustainability, and collaborating across disciplines and communities.
At its heart, the theme calls on the Trinitarian community to transform ideas into meaningful and measurable impact. It encourages students and educators alike to look beyond conventional boundaries, embrace responsible innovation, and recognize their role in shaping a better future.
Dr. Albano also presented the schedule of programs and activities designed to help bring the institutional theme to life throughout the academic year. These initiatives are expected to provide opportunities for the HTC community to translate the theme from words into concrete actions and contributions.
As the celebration came to a close, President’s Day became more than a birthday gathering—it became a reminder that leadership, education, and innovation are most meaningful when they inspire people to serve a greater purpose.
With “Think Beyond Borders: Innovate Responsibly, Make a Meaningful Impact,” HTC begins another academic year with a renewed challenge: to think boldly, act responsibly, and create an impact that reaches beyond the classroom.
