“Convergence of one greener vision, amidst divergence in colors and perspective”.
It has been 28 years since Holy Trinity College began as a piano school to a leading institution in General Santos City. From its humble beginning, HTC continue to provide greater opportunities despite the diverse culture of its students, faculty and the administration. United in one vision, the institution created quintessential path towards a greener and better future.
The celebration started with a thanksgiving mass last November 16, 2012 that was held at the Basic Education ground. It was also a birthday celebration of one of its principal founders, Madam Gertrudes Trinidad Albano, who celebrated her 88th birthday. “Madam” as she is fondly called, was serenaded by the HTC family and most especially by her loving children – Atty. Josemar T. Albano, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Rey T. Albano, HTC President, and Marylone Albano-Canlas, Vice President for Finance.
After the mass, Trinitarians proceeded to the Trinitarian Center for its blessing. After the blessing, a simple celebration was held for the prosperity not only of the Trinitarian Center but also for the whole HTC community as well.
On November 17, 2012, the celebration continued with a parade which started at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. Trinitarians from different level of education actively participated in the said event. A friendly basketball game followed afterwards where teachers from the basic education department battled against the teachers from the college department including the non-teaching staff. Students got a glimpse on how their teachers and the staff play, which was a deviation from their usual tasks. In both men and women categories, the teachers from the basic education emerged as the winners and defended their title which they held for several years.
At around 6:00 o’clock in the evening, a masquerade ball became the finale for the celebration of its 28th Foundation Anniversary. Despite heavy rains, the HTC family enthusiastically participated in the program with their masquerade-inspired attire. In the said program, HTC President Prof. Rey T. Albano gave a heart-warming message to his fellow Trinitarians and guests and extended his gratitude for their continued support and love for the institution.
Atty. Josemar T. Albano, Chairman of the Board, also gave an inspirational talk during the said event. In his video presentation, Atty. Albano emphasized the importance of the body and the heart, that these two areas should go together. Like the HTC family, it should not only have the body that has the drive to surpass all challenges but should also have the heart to care, love and inspire others in all those endeavors.
Intermission numbers coming from the different departments entertained not only the guests but also the Trinitarians as well. Aside from that, raffle and giving of prizes also delighted the spectators. Lastly, teachers and staff were also recognized and given special awards for their exemplary performances which gave pride and honor to Holy Trinity College and for their loyalty and service to the institution.
