SALAMAT, MADAM

“Once a Trinitarian always a Wildcat
and once a Wildcat forever a Trinitarian!”

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Last November 10, 2013, one of the principal founders of Holy Trinity College, Madam Gertrudes Trinidad Albano peacefully joined her creator at the age of 88. The said news deeply saddened the hearts of every Trinitarian, specially the administrators, as she was the matriarch of Albano family and the HTC community.

Madam, as she was dotingly called, was honored by her fellow Trinitarians when her remains arrived at HTC campus. Thereafter, several activities followed which were sponsored by the different offices of the school. A tribute was also given to Madam coming from the faculty, staff, students and alumni, to honor her selfless contribution, support and love to the Holy Trinity College. Tears poured as Trinitarians reminisced the greatness and kindness of the HTC matriarch. According to them, Madam exemplified the character of a leader, who fought and finished the race, with faith and love in her heart.

In the necrological service, the grandchildren of Madam Gertrudes Albano remembered how their lola cared and loved them. Gertrude Marie Albano (daughter of Marylone Albano-Canlas), Angel Albano (daughter of Rosalyn Albano), InyakiMartin and Leon Rey Albano (sons of Prof. Rey Albano) and Joselv and Jose Delvimar“Aris” Albano (sons of Atty. Josemar Albano) recalled how their grandmother spoiled and played with them. They also recounted how madam influenced their lives and honed them to become better persons.

On November 17, 2013, Trinitarians flocked at Albano Mausoleum, Forest Lake, General Santos City as Madam Gertrudes Albano was finally laid to rest. Trinitarians, family members and friends gave their last respect to the HTC matriarch and thanked her for the life that she gave to the institution. Indeed, an emblem of a true Trinitarian, Madam gave the Holy Trinity College a good fight and the faith to win the race for excellence.
