Towards More Sustainable Food Choices: HTC Plans to Strengthen Responsible Food Sourcing Practices
Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, Inc. recognizes the importance of sustainable food systems in promoting environmental responsibility and the responsible use of natural resources. As food consumption is part of everyday campus life, the College acknowledges the role of educational institutions in encouraging practices that support more sustainable food production and sourcing.
At present, HTC does not have a formal institutional policy specifically requiring that food served or sold on campus come from sustainably farmed sources. However, the College recognizes this as an area for further development and intends to explore policies and initiatives that encourage sustainable food sourcing and environmentally responsible practices.
Moving toward more sustainable food procurement can help promote awareness of responsible consumption, support environmentally conscious suppliers, and encourage practices that reduce the environmental impact of food production. Through future initiatives, HTC aims to strengthen its contribution to a more sustainable campus food environment.
The College remains committed to identifying opportunities to integrate sustainability into its campus operations and promote responsible practices among the Trinitarian community.
