Preparing Responsible Future Workers: HTC and DOLE Promote Labor Rights Education Among Scholars

Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC), through its Guidance and Testing Center, strengthened its commitment to preparing informed and responsible future workers through a Labor Education Seminar conducted in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XII – General Santos City Chapter on August 22, 2025, at EMC 1, College Building.

Carrying the theme “From Training to Triumph: Labor Education for Future Workers,” the seminar was attended by HTC scholars enrolled in the NC II Cookery program. The activity provided an opportunity for participants to gain valuable knowledge about labor education, workplace responsibilities, and the importance of understanding their rights and obligations as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Through this partnership, HTC and DOLE highlighted the importance of equipping future workers with the knowledge and awareness necessary to navigate employment opportunities responsibly. Labor education also provides an important foundation for recognizing fair working conditions and understanding the importance of protecting workers from exploitative and unlawful employment practices, including forced labor, human trafficking, modern slavery, and child labor.

The initiative reflects HTC’s efforts to integrate employment awareness and worker preparation into its educational and skills development programs. By collaborating with government agencies such as DOLE, the institution helps empower its scholars with relevant knowledge and encourages them to become informed, responsible, and rights-conscious members of the workforce.
