BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINOLOGY
The field of criminology is the study of crime and the various agencies of justice as they operate and react to crime, criminals and victims. It is therefore the mission of the Criminology program to provide the community with professionally competent and morally upright graduates who can deliver efficient and effective services in crime prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, public safety, custody and rehabilitation of offenders, criminological research, among others (CMO No. 35, S. 2018).
Program Objectives:
The BS Criminology Program, under the College of Criminal Justice Education seeks to:
- Encourage research and inquiry on the nature, causes, treatment or punishment of criminal behavior and how criminal justice agencies function and respond to crime, criminals and victims.
- Prepare the students for careers in crime prevention, law enforcement, scientific crime detection, correctional administration, public safety and allied fields.
- Foster the values of leadership, integrity, accountability and responsibility while serving their fellowmen, community and country.
BACHELOR OF FORENSIC SCIENCE
The expertise is in the application of scientific principles and techniques to the legal process in support of the proper administration of justice. It is the quest for truth aided by scientific techniques. Forensic Science delivers cognitive and practical skills such as: skills in scientific crime investigation, crime scene processing, and collection and evaluation of physical evidence, and court presentation skills (CMO No. 48, S. 2012).
Program Objectives:
The BS Forensic Science Program, under the College of Criminal Justice Education seeks to:
- Provide the students with a thorough knowledge of the basic scientific crime investigation and detection.
- Provide the students with the adequate education and knowledge on the application of scientific principles and methodologies to legal problems and criminal investigation.
- Produce graduates equipped with the necessary forensic skills and expertise in aid of judicial processes.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL SECURITY MANAGEMENT
This program involves the study and application of the principles of security. It prepares its graduates to assume supervisory roles. It involves the study and principles and methods of risk management and the applicable interventions that confronts all types of human conditions and endeavors. It also includes the study and practice of the means of protecting resources from loss damage (CMO No. 6, S. 2018).
Program Objectives:
The program aims to provide its graduates with the following:
- A strong foundation on fundamental theories of industrial security and its administration and understanding of constitutional guarantees of security;
- Ability to prepare programs for best approaches and practical applications of these fundamental theories and concerns;
- A comprehensive knowledge of the diverse issues and concerns affecting security in industrial setting.
