2012 STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS

“Once a Trinitarian always a Wildcat
and once a Wildcat forever a Trinitarian!”

“Greener HTC pathway to Greater Opportunity.”

That was the theme of this year’s State of the School Address (SOSA) delivered by the HTC President, Rey T. Albano, MaEd. It sets out the aspiration of the Holy Trinity College of General Santos City as it reached a population of 5,072, a 6.4% increase from the last school year.

With Filipiniana-inspired attire, in celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, HTC guests, administrators, faculty, staff and the students gracefully attended the annual celebration last August 5, 2012. The SOSA was held at the Basic Education Ground with the full support of all Trinitarians from elementary, high school and college departments.

The program started with the entrance of the members of the Board of Trustees, Atty. Josemar T. Albano (chairman), Marylone T. Albano-Canlas (member), Marilou E. Albano (secretary), and one of the principal founders of this institution, Madame Gertrudes T. Albano. Then it was followed by the entrance of the HTC President Rey T. Albano.

In his State of the School Address, the HTC President recognized the loyalty and contribution of its employees whom he considered the pillars of this institution. Furthermore, he mentioned the achievements of the faculty and staff and more importantly the recognition and prestige given by the students. In particular, the HTC President mentioned Baile Real, coached by Mr. Harry Mangohig, which brought honor to the school by winning the 2012 National Cheerleading Competition in Manila and was also recognized by the Sangguniang Panglunsod of the Local Government of General Santos City for bagging the said award.

The HTC President also introduced new faculty members and administrative staff for this school year. The new members and officers would be of great help in maintaining and improving the quality education the HTC has to offer. The President also surprised the guests and fellow Trinitarians when he announced the acquisition of a new property located at Pendatun Avenue, General Santos City. It was formerly known as the Panlaque Building which will now be called as the Trinitarian Center. To end his speech, HTC President Albano emphasized the importance of a greener pathway that this institution should inculcate to Trinitarians towards a greater opportunity and sustainable society.

The next part of the program was the oath taking of the newly appointed administrative staff and officials conducted by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Atty. Josemar T. Albano. Lastly, the 2012 State of the School Address would not be complete without the birthday celebration of the Vice President for Finance, Marylone T. Albano-Canlas, who was heartily greeted by her family, guests and most specially, by the Trinitarians.
