The basketball team of Holy Trinity College – General Santos City have successfully defended their Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Mindanao title with a tense 99-98 victory over STI Cagayan de Oro last October 8, 2014.
STI Cagayan de Oro Olympians dominated for most of the final game played at Xavier University Gym in Cagayan De Oro City.
But HTC Wildcats showed poise, in the last seven (7) seconds of the game the Olympians was leading by just 1 point. Shooting guard Christopher Magsalang was then able to score through a steal which sealed the victory for the Wildcats.
HTC Wildcats now advanced to the PCCL Vis-Min Qualifying Games to be held on October 13 in Cebu City wherein they will be playing against the PCCL Visayas Regional Champion – University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos.
