Misael Racines is Resource Speaker in HTC International Seminar
Today was historic moment for College when it hosted its 1st International Seminar on the theme, “Philippine-Indonesian Border Trade and Opportunities for SOCSKSARGEN” at the new CBDG Conference Room.
The event was jointly organized by the College’s Center for Business Development and Governance (under Dr. Danny Alfaras) and Research Center (under Dr. Melissa Bautista).
Featured speaker was Misael Racinece, PhD Candidate in Asian Studies at the College of Asia and the Pacific, Australian National University, Canberra, ACT.
The seminar was graced by VP Tayamen who gave an inspirational message on furthering the ties of both countries in terms of culture, trade, among others.
Mr. Racines’ presentation is part of his extensive doctoral research project. His presentation focus on the development of land borders in Mekong, Pearl River, Singapore-Batam-Johore, and the maritime region of BIMP-EAGA. He further emphasized on the gradual development of economic zone between North Sulawesi and Southern Mindanao. A particular example of this is the growth of the Jose Abad Santos-Sarangani-Glan Cooperation Treaty (JAGS CT).
The seminar reactors were Mr. Andresito Lamboso, MM (research director of the Mindanao Polytechnic College) and Romeo Sustiguer, Jr MBA (VP for Academics of Green Valley College Foundation and National President, Philippine Association of MBAs).
Dr. Alfaras is hopeful that this kind of event will be definitely not “the last”.
