The AFS Intercultural Programs sponsored professors from Thailand to visit various schools in the Philippines last October 19, 2012. The said visit, which includes the Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, aims to promote and develop the culture and education between the Philippines and Thailand, since AFS has been recognized by the Department of Education as an organization that provides Intercultural Learning (ICL).
The Thai delegates were warmly welcomed by the Trinitarians and the HTC Chairman of Board, Atty. Josemar T. Albano. The Thai professors reciprocated the same by giving a plaque of appreciation which was received by Atty. Albano. Thereafter, the delegates, including the AFS scholars and representatives and some members of the faculty and staff proceeded to the Educational Media Center-1 (EMC-1) for a presentation made by the Thai teachers. The said presentation showcase the culture and education of Thailand not only within its country but also outside its state. It also serve as a comparison of the system of education between Thailand and the Philippines and a blueprint for Holy Trinity College towards a greener and brighter future.
After the presentation at the EMC, the Thai professors, AFS scholars and representatives were entertained by the Trinitarians and gave them what “Good Holy” really mean. From Philippine folk songs and dances, Muslim dances, dancesports and the Tribal dance of T’boli, the delegates really enjoyed the intermission numbers provided for them. The presentation was a collective effort of the Trinitarians from basic education to college level.
At the end of the program, the visitors appreciated and thanked the Holy Trinity College for their warm welcome and for the wonderful intermission numbers showed to them.
